1. To campaign for a NO vote in the city council referendum on governance to be held on October 23rd 2008.

2. To promote the most democratic option of governance available - a mayor and cabinet executive system in which over 180,000 voters across the city choose who runs the council.

3. To argue against less democratic option of governance available - a leader and cabinet executive system in which only 60 councillors in the council chamber choose who runs the council.

4. To encourage people of all political persuasions, and those of none, to join the VOTE NO campaign.

5. To engage in the debate in a friendly and cordial way, never being hostile to those that oppose our campaign.

6. To open our campaign to all people, regardless of age, race, religion, gender or sexuality, and to ensure an environment where all people feel safe and comfortable promoting the People's Choice cause.
